Welcome to the home page of the ISTEC initiative on Advanced Continuing Education (ACE).
Take a look at What's New in our web.![]()
The initiative ACE started in 1997 with the aim of promoting the collaboration between the ISTEC members in order to define a new collaboration scheme in teaching and learning through the use
of the new Information Technologies (IT).
This initiative is being developed through of three different projects:
1.- New software tools to promote and to facilitate electronic courses developing.
2.- Developing criteria to guarantee the highest level of pedagogic quality (DEPI project)
3.- Promoting the creation of a virtual network of teachers resources to support the local and joint initiatives of the Universities members (Network of Advanced Continuing Education-NACE
project)
The following is a list of recent additions to our web. Whenever we publish a paper, write a specification, submit a status report, or add anything else to our web, we'll put a notice here. Every month we'll remove the oldest items. The most recent changes are listed first, and each item is linked to the page with the updated content.

This not-for-profit Association – 'the ARIADNE Foundation' for short – will endorse societal objectives as follows:
The ARIADNE Foundation will seek to increase the awareness of Europe’s (and beyond) learning citizen of existing ICT-based training channels, convince and guide new potential users from the academic community - mainly public sector institutions - and to assist new users from the corporate world, where training and re-training is increasingly necessary.
This Association will implement and promote collaborative approaches, whereby teaching institutions (but also Corporate entities) are encouraged to cooperate to optimize their training tasks - rather than blindly compete. The share-and-reuse principle is reflected in the technology developed by the ARIADNE Project and now made available to all Foundation Members.
